Jammu, Sept. 24 -- Two policemen were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a vehicle in the Sana area of Batote tehsil of Ramban district on Tuesday night. The deceased have been identified as head constable Farid Ahmed, a resident of Bhatti, Ramban, and head constable Muhammad Yaqoob, a resident of Jatgali, Ramban. Both were posted at the District Police Lines (DPL), Ramban. According to Ramban senior superintendent of police (SSP) Arun Gupta, the police station at Batote received information on Tuesday night that two unconscious men were lying near a Fiat Linea car at Ziarat Morh in Sana village. Local residents helped take the two men to the District Hospital in Ramban, where doctors declared them brougth dead. A board of three doctors conducted a post-mortem on Wednesday morning to determine the cause of death. While official investigations remain underway, initial unverified reports from the scene indicate that liquor bottles and performance-enhancing substances were recovered near the vehicle.
