Shimla, July 4 -- Health and family welfare minister Dhani Ram Shandil on Friday said infrastructure at Tanda Medical College would be further strengthened to support an increase in postgraduate medical seats and to improve facilities for students enrolled in Medical Laboratory Technology and nursing programmes. The state government was upgrading medical institutions in the state in line with leading healthcare centres in the country, said Shandil while chairing the governing body meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda. As part of this effort, Rs.75 crore has been sanctioned for the establishment of advanced automated laboratories at Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialities, Chamiyana, Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, he said. Shandil informed that college has recently installed several advanced medical technologies, including high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), continuous renal replacement therapy and hemodiafiltration dialysis systems, which would significantly enhance diagnostic and critical care services....
