Student guns down classmate in Punjab college, shoots self
Amritsar, Feb. 10 -- A first-year law student shot dead a woman classmate and then pulled the trigger on himself at a private college in Tarn Taran district on Monday morning, police said. The attacker, Prince Raj (20) of Mallian village, is critical.
The victim has been identified as Sandeep Kaur (20) of Naushehra Pannuan village. The incident took place in a classroom at Punjab College of Law in Usma village before lectures for the day were set to begin. According to police, Prince entered the classroom and opened fire at Sandeep with a pistol from point-blank range. Raj then turned the gun on himself and pulled the trigger as classmates watched in shock.
"The incident took place in the college falling in jurisdiction of the Sarhali Police Station. The girl student died on the spot, while the shooter is in critical condition", said Tarn Taran deputy superintendent of police Jagbir Singh who was at the spot with his team.
The body of the woman has been sent for autopsy. HTC...
