Rescued sambar, leopard succumb to injuries
SHIMLA, Feb. 5 -- A sambar deer, which villagers and a forest department team rescued from the banks of the Tirthan River in the Balichowki area of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday evening, died late last night about six hours after its rescue.
The DFO, Banjar, Manoj, said that after receiving information from local residents last evening, a team went to the scene to rescue the sambar. He clarified that deep wounds were found on the animal's body, and the exact cause of death will only be clear after the post-mortem examination. The DFO stated that it appears that it was unable to survive due to extreme fear and stress.
A day after being rescued after being attacked by a pack of dogs at Dhad village in Mandi district, a leopard succumbed to injuries. htc...
