Northern Railways' Jammu division to run spl trains to ease Holi rush
Jammu, March 4 -- In view of the expected heavy rush and safety of passengers during the Holi festival, the Jammu Division of Northern Railways has introduced special trains, said officials.
"Under the guidance of divisional railway manager, Vivek Kumar, and the leadership of senior divisional commercial manager, Uchit Singhal, various strategic measures were taken to ensure better passenger comfort, safety, stress-free travel, and basic amenities for passengers during Holi," said an official spokesperson.
In accordance with this, senior officials periodically inspected various railway stations in the Jammu Division and, based on a "zero-inconvenience" policy, special attention was paid to passengers.
To meet the additional passenger demand during Holi festival, special trains are being operated from Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Delhi, Varanasi, and other major cities, he added.
Special trains are being run between New Delhi and Varanasi, both of which are operating successfully with 100% occupancy. Additional coaches were also added to Rajdhani Express from time to time.
