Jai Ram: HP govt failed to implement budget announcements even after 3 yrs
Shimla, March 17 -- Taking dig at "Vyavstha Parivartan" by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government, former CM and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur stated that even after three years in office, the Congress party has failed to implement even the announcements made in its very first budget.
"Some announcements have remained confined solely to paper," he said. "It is the government's responsibility to fulfil the schemes for which budgetary provisions have been allocated; however, dozens of announcements made by the current government in its budgets are merely gathering dust on paper, having been completely forgotten by the administration," added Thakur.
"Despite presenting such a massive budget and incurring substantial debt, if schemes announced during the budget sessions in the Assembly could not even be initiated over a period of three years, it raises serious questions," Jai Ram said.
Hitting out at BJP on their silence over discontinuation of Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), principal advisor (Media) to the chief minister, Naresh Chauhan on Monday, said, "The opposition has been repeatedly commenting on the state's financial condition, but instead of criticising, they should cooperate with the government," he said adding that "Opposition leaders have not shown seriousness on issues concerning the interests of the state, which is unfortunate."...
