Itoo for speedy compensation to farmers for hailstorm damage to crops
Srinagar, June 1 -- Jammu and Kashmir government has directed officials to assess damages on farmers and orchardists after a recent hailstorm severely impacted orchards and agricultural lands across several areas of Kashmir division.
Minister for health and medical education, Sakeena Itoo on Saturday expressed concern over the extensive damage caused by the hailstorm that affected several areas of Kashmir division, including DH Pora in Kulgam district urging for expedition of compensation process. "Taking prompt cognisance of the situation, Itoo established direct communication with the district administrations and the director horticulture to obtain a detailed assessment of the damage caused by the hailstorm. She directed deputy commissioners to undertake immediate ground-level assessments and ensure that affected farmers receive timely assistance," a government spokesperson said.htc...
