Shimla, May 14 -- Police have intensified its crackdown against drug traffickers, with the arrest of the two main suppliers of drugs, in two separate cases on Wednesday. Police said Gurmeet Singh (27), hailing from Faridkot district of Punjab, was arrested from Ludhiana on Wednesday. Addressing the media on Wednesday, additional superintendent of police, Shimla, said a case was registered at Boileauganj Police Station on March 20, in which police had recovered 93.970 grams of heroin from five accused persons belonging to Haryana. "Investigators discovered that the heroin consignment had been sourced from Gurmeet alias Billa of Faridkot, who was allegedly operating through virtual numbers to remain in contact with the accused," said the ASP on Wednesday. He said in another case a key drug supplier was arrested. He said a case was registered in Theog Police Station on April 12 after recovering 8.34 grams of heroin from accused Kuldeep Verma of Theog. Police said further investigation led to the identification of the supplier, Shiv Shankar. The police arrested Shankar, hailing from Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested from Chandigarh.htc...
