Ensure safety, security of KPs, govt urged
Srinagar, Sept. 1 -- Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Jammu & Kashmir president Vivek Bali has expressed concern over alleged threats to Kashmiri Pandits and urged the government to ensure their safety, security and dignified return to the Valley. Reacting to reports of fresh threats, Bali said it is unfortunate that despite security measures, the community continues to face fear and uncertainty.
"Since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Kashmiri Pandits have reportedly received around 20 to 25 threat letters. This is a matter of serious concern and requires immediate attention," he said.
Bali demanded a dedicated committee to examine lands and properties belonging to Kashmiri Pandits allegedly under encroachment since 1990. The committee, he said, should conduct a transparent assessment, identify encroachments and recommend legal and administrative action for restoration. htc...
