Chennai, April 19 -- Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday attacked the Centre over the Women's Reservation constitutional amendment bill, and reiterated that the bill was meant as a front for the delimitation procedure, meant to allegedly "weaken" Southern , North- Eastern and smaller states. "We defeated the Bill to defend the idea of India," said Rahul, while addressing a rally in Chennai. "What is the idea of India? It is written in the Constitution. India .i.e. Bharat, is a Union of States. Meaning, every single state should have a voice in the Union. Meaning that every single state should be free to express itself, its language and to protect its tradition," he added. He also reiterated the Opposition's prevailing criticism of the Centre's approach to foreign policy through another analogy. "In the same way, Donald Trump has compromised Narendra Modi, they want a compromised chief minister to run Tamil Nadu," he alleged, adding that the BJP and RSS were "fundamentally anti-Tamil."HTC...
