CBI arrests man on run for murder after 26 years
New Delhi, Aug. 17 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man who was on the run for over 26 years after committing a murder in Saudi Arabia, agency said on Saturday.
The accused, Mohammad Dilshad, was nabbed at the IGI Airport in Delhi on August 11 as he returned from Madinah via Jeddah under a new identity and passport. Dilshad, who worked as a heavy motor mechanic and security guard in Riyadh, allegedly murdered an individual at his place of work in 1999. He gave a slip to Saudi authorities and fled to India, where he assumed a new identity and passport. Dilshad continued to evade arrest using the new passport, which allowed him to frequently visit Gulf countries during the period. HTC...
