Three arrested in Bhilwara for faking insurance claims: police
Bhilwara, May 11 -- Three people, including the mastermind, were arrested in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district on Saturday in connection with an organised fake insurance claim racket in Mandal area, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the accused had arranged 35 insurance policies in the names of seven individuals, including four from Rajasthan. The accused have been identified as Ahmedabad-based insurance agent Suraj Vishwas (34), the mastermind, his driver Bhikhabai (30) and associate Daloo Gadri (36). Another local suspect, Rakesh Sansi, is currently absconding and being searched for, police said.
Superintendent of police Dharmendra Yadav said the matter came to light after a an Ahmedabad-based man was found dead under suspicious circumstance on May 7. He said the accused allegedly applied electric current to the body to make the postmortem report indicate electrocution, enabling them to claim insurance money under the guise of an accident.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Deepak Bhai. Police said insurance policies worth approximately Rs.83 lakh had been taken in his name through four different insurance plans. The SP added that the extent of the crime will be disclosed following a thorough probe....
