Ajmer, Sept. 5 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s unwavering control of the Ajmer Municipal Corporation for 35 years has recorded a series of cracks ahead of the civic elections, and political observers are divided over whether the party will be able to maintain its dominance. Infighting in both BJP and Congress began soon after the distribution of tickets and has continued even after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations. However, the BJP has more rebel candidates to contend with than the Congress. Of the corporation's 80 wards, only around 10 will record a direct BJP-Congress contest.
