Ranveer Allahbadia says he 'never invited' celebs who claimed to boycott his show after IGL row
India, Aug. 8 -- Months after Ranveer Allahbadia and fellow content creators found themselves at the centre of controversy, the YouTuber slammed certain celebs for claiming they rejected invitations to appear on the BeerBiceps podcast.
Speaking of the row, the 32-year-old said, "It was a feeding frenzy. Some celebrities claimed that they'd even rejected an invite to the show."
The debacle began in February after viewers took offence to certain "inappropriate" comments made during an episode of comedian Samay Raina's India's Got Latent which landed content creator Apoorva Makhija and comedian Ashish Chanchlani in legal trouble.
"The truth is that we never invited them in the first place. In such situations, I felt angry at human beings in general. But I realised that the predicament that I was in was a result of my own actions," Ranveer shared during a recent appearance on content creator Prafful Garg's YouTube show.
He added that while it felt like a setback, his social media hiatus following the row gave him the chance to "move on". Ranveer mused, "I couldn't change the past; I got a forced break after an intense six-year podcasting journey. I've tried to forgive people, even myself."
