JODHPUR, July 22 -- A Jodhpur resident who designed a special adaptive chair for children battling cerebral palsy has been chosen to recieve national honours under the Grassroots Innovator Recognition 2026. Neha Solanki will receive the honour from President Draupadi Murmu at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 31. According to an official communication from the Atal Innovation Mission, Neha is among 26 grassroots innovators selected from across the country. Solanki said the invention was inspired by her own experiences with her son, who was turned away from schools owing to the condition. She pursued a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Psychology and worked with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, special educators and parents to establish her firm Unnati Adaptive Devices.
