interim relief granted in fake degrees case
JODHPUR, Aug. 3 -- The Rajasthan high court on Friday granted interim relief to 40 petitioners in connection with the FIR registered by the Special Operations Group (SOG) over alleged use of fake Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) degrees. The court restrained their arrest till the next date of hearing scheduled for August 13.
The petitioners, including Dhara Singh Gurjar and others, contended that the FIR filed against them was not based on factual grounds and that they were being falsely implicated. Representing the petitioners, Senior Advocate Dhirendra Singh, along with advocate Priyanka Borana, argued that the high court had earlier directed the formation of a three-member committee in the case Yashwant v. State of Rajasthan to verify the authenticity of degrees.
Justice Kuldeep Mathur, while passing the order, stated: "In the meanwhile and till the next date of hearing, the petitioners shall not be arrested in connection with the FIR . However, the petitioners are directed to cooperate with probe."htc...
