hc QUASHES plea against CAA 2019, FINES PETITIONER
Jodhpur, Sept. 26 -- The Rajasthan high court has dismissed a petition filed by advocate Puran Chander Sen alleging public disorder in Govindgarh due to the fallout of the 2019 amendment of the Citizenship Act and imposed a fine of Rs.50,000, a lawyer familiar with the case said on Thursday.The petition sought registration of an FIR against top government officials, including the Prime Minister, the Union home and law and justice minister, as well as several media organisations.
Justice Sudesh Bansal said: "There is no whisper about the occurrence of any act of amendment in the Citizenship Act or any incident of killing or causing hurt to any person within the territorial jurisdiction of Govindgarh." The court said the petitioner had made "general allegations without any specification"....
