India, Aug. 30 -- A ctor George Clooney, 64, missed a string of promotional events at the ongoing Venice Film Festival earlier this week after being diagnosed with a sinus infection. Clooney skipped the press junket of Jay Kelly, the latest film by Noah Baumbach, as well as a high-profile dinner with co-stars Laura Dern and Adam Sandler. His representative confirmed to Fox News on Thursday that the actor was "under doctor's orders to cut back all activities". He was even spotted quietly leaving Hotel Excelsior on a water taxi to rest, missing the film's official press conference the next day. "As you may know, George Clooney is not going to be here because he has a bad sinus infection. We really hope, and I think he should be on the red carpet tonight. But he is very sorry he cannot be with us," the moderator said at the event, while director Baumbach quipped that "even movie stars get sick."
