Jaipur, June 16 -- Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke was allegedly assaulted on Monday while arriving at the Martyrs' Memorial in Jaipur to participate in a protest against paper leaks, unemployment and to demand the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, police said. Reacting to the incident, Dipke said he was attacked while entering the venue but vowed to continue raising issues affecting students and unemployed youth, "I was assaulted while entering the protest site. No matter how many attacks take place, I will not raise my hand against anyone. Cowards resort to violence. I will not remain silent" . According to police, five people have been arrested in connection with the incident. "Three of them were involved in the assault on Dipke, while one allegedly assaulted a media person. Another individual has also been detained. Their identities are being verified. Legal action will be taken against all those found responsible," Rajarshi Raj, deputy commissioner of police, Jaipur (South), said. CJP state spokesperson Abhishek Jain Bittu accused the administration of failing to prevent the incident. "The manner in which this attack took place raises serious questions about the role of the police and the government. Instead of stopping anti-social elements, the administration allowed the situation to unfold. The conduct of the Rajasthan government and police is condemnable, and action should be taken against the officials involved," he said. Responding to allegations of police negligence, Rajarshi said, "The police were fully alert and took appropriate action immediately." People aware of the matter said permission had been granted for a gathering of around 800 people. However, a much larger crowd assembled at the venue. Ashutosh Ranka, national spokesperson of the Cockroach Janata Party, told HT, "The administration deliberately fixed the protest timing at 3 p.m. in June, apparently to discourage people from gathering in the scorching heat." The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied the allegations. "The government has taken steps to ensure that incidents such as paper leaks do not occur. Some individuals are attempting to mislead young people. If any wrongdoing has taken place, the police will take appropriate action in accordance with the law," BJP spokesperson Rakhee Rathore said. The protest drew participation from students, unemployed youth and families affected by examination-related controversies. Among them was the family of Pradeep Meghwal, a Sikar resident who allegedly died by suicide following mental stress linked to the NEET paper leak issue. Family members brought his ashes to the protest and said they wanted to ensure that no other student faces a similar fate. The family of Amayra, a nine-year-old girl who died by suicide after jumping from a private school building in Jaipur last year, also joined the demonstration....
