Jaipur, Sept. 30 -- Amid a growing number of cybercrime complaints, disposal remains low in several Rajasthan police districts, revealed official police data obtained by HT. An analysis of figures from the 1930 cybercrime portal shows that the 10 districts with the lowest disposal rates in each month from January to August 2026 registered a combined 23,227 complaints across the eight monthly lists but closed only 1,724. Their combined disposal rate was 7.42%. The lists cover 28 distinct police districts. Pali featured among the 10 districts with the lowest disposal rates in every monthly list from January to August. Its rate fell from 10.49% in January to 1.72% in August. Till August, Pali had disposed of only six of 349 complaints. Jaipur City South's figures show a widening gap between complaints and closures. Jaipur City South closed 20 of 918 complaints (2.18%), followed by Bikaner, which closed 12 of 489 (2.45%). Jaipur West closed 33 of 1,198 complaints, giving it a disposal rate of 2.75%. In April, it registered 760 complaints and closed 83, a disposal rate of 10.92%. Till August, registrations rose to 918 but closures fell to 20, bringing the rate down to 2.18%. Senior police officers say banks need to play a greater role in detecting suspicious accounts and transaction patterns. The officers say delays in identifying and flagging suspicious transactions make it harder to trace cyber fraud . Additional director general of police (cyber crime) VK Singh told HT, "Earlier, we had limited resources, which contributed to the low disposal rate. We now have more resources, and police are working to dispose of more cases."...
