Barmer, March 9 -- A 28-year-old married woman and her 29-year-old brother-in-law died by suicide in Barmer district over an alleged love affair, police said on Sunday. The two left their homes late on Saturday night without informing their family members, walked about 1.5km to a deserted area, where they took their lives, police added. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when family members awoke to find both missing. A shepherd, who was grazing his goats in the area, discovered the bodies around 11am and alerted nearby villagers and relatives. Station house officer of Bakhasar station rushed to the scene with a police team, followed by family members. A Forensic Science Laboratory team collected evidence from the site. Police recovered a piece of paper with a handwritten poem from the man's pocket. The bodies were shifted to a mortuary for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family, which reported the deaths as suicides, prompting police to register an unnatural death case.
