Barmer, Oct. 11 -- A nurse employed at a private hospital in Barmer district has accused the hospital owner, a doctor, the manager and other staff members of rape, sexual exploitation and blackmail using videos recorded without her consent, police said on Saturday, adding that the complaint was lodged eight days after she was released from jail in a blackmail case filed against her by the doctor. According to the complaint lodged at the Women's Police Station on October 8, the nurse alleged that the doctor and hospital owner secretly recorded photographs and videos of her while she was changing clothes at the hospital and subsequently used them to coerce her into sexual relations. She alleged that in January 2024, while on night duty, she was forcibly taken from the labour room and raped. The assault was allegedly filmed, and the accused continued to exploit her during subsequent night shifts, threatening to harm her children if she resisted. The nurse claimed that she stopped reporting for duty on March 4, 2026. However, the doctor allegedly pressured her into returning to work, where the abuse continued. She further alleged that in May 2026, the hospital manager and another staff member raped her on separate occasions. A female colleague who attempted to intervene was allegedly threatened with dismissal. According to the complaint, after she confided in her brother and colleagues, the doctor allegedly circulated the videos and filed a false blackmail case against her on July 22. She was arrested and stayed in jail until September 30, before approaching police on October 8. ASP Nitesh Arya confirmed that a case had been registered against the doctor, hospital manager and other staff members. "The victim's medical examination will be conducted, and her statement will be recorded before a court," Arya said....
