4 brothers among 6 killed in road accidents in Balotra, Pali districts
Barmer/Balotra/Pali, June 17 -- Six people were killed and a woman injured in two separate road accidents in Rajasthan on Tuesday, including a devastating collision in Balotra district that claimed the lives of four brothers travelling together for work.
In Balotra district, four brothers were killed after their car collided head-on with a Rajasthan Roadways bus near Patodi village on Tuesday morning, police said. According to police, the impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled and all four occupants died on the spot. The victims were identified as Udaram (39), Rekharam (35), Jogaram (31) and Vishnaram (29), residents of Koduka village.
The four worked as construction labourers and were travelling to Kalewa village for work.
During the accident, a motorcycle parked on the roadside was also hit by the bus. However, the rider escaped unhurt. A case has been registered and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
In a separate incident in Pali district, two people were killed and a woman injured after a car lost control, struck a divider, crossed into the opposite lane and overturned in a roadside ditch near the Mandiya Bypass on the Pali-Jodhpur Highway around 7 am.
The deceased were identified as Kosha (50), wife of Pawan Kumar, and Anand Kumar (55), son of Hazarilal, both residents of Panwad in Jodhpur district. Asha (50), wife of Anand Kumar, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Bangur Hospital.
Police said the trio was travelling from Jodhpur to Sirohi when the accident occurred. Investigators are examining whether the driver lost control while trying to avoid an animal on the road or if another factor caused the crash....
