Bikaner, April 30 -- Two caterers were arrested on Wednesday in connection with an alleged inter-state heroin smuggling ring whose existence surfaced after police seized heroin worth Rs.70 crore from a two-wheeler wrecked in a car accident on April 22. The accused were identified as Rahul Rawat and Prashant Kasyal. Meanwhile, police also announced a bounty of Rs.25,000 on the alleged kingpin of the racket- a man identified as Rakesh Prajapat. According to a senior police officer, Prajapat was earlier imprisoned in Punjab, where he was suspected to have contacted operatives linked to smuggling networks based in Pakistan. Preliminary enquiries suggested that drug consignments were dropped via Pakistani drones near the border and transported inland by road. Circle officer at Khajuwala police station, Amarjeet Chawla said that the matter came to light after a man identified as Khetaram Meghwal was seriously injured after his two-wheeler collided with a nilgai. Police required 14 kilograms of heroin from the vehicle, said Chawla, adding that Meghwal was still admitted to PBM Hospital in a comatose state....
