2 arrested in Rs.100-cr jaipur investment fraud case
Jaipur, Oct. 4 -- Police have arrested two men in connection with an alleged Rs.100-crore investment fraud in Jaipur, in which investors were promised high returns on property and USDT investments. Police have frozen bank fixed deposits worth Rs.1 crore and seized a Mercedes car and a Triumph motorcycle, together valued at approximately Rs.1.25 crore.
The accused, identified as Mohit Kaloya, 27, and Ghanshyam Kandel, 35, were arrested on Friday. Kaloya, the alleged main accused, was arrested in Gurgaon, while information obtained during his questioning led police to Kandel, who was apprehended in rural Jaipur.
Lalit Sharma, DCP, Jaipur South, said the accused allegedly lured investors through Easy Way Homes by promising high returns on property investments. They also allegedly created fake websites to attract cryptocurrency investments.
"Police investigations have uncovered fake digital coin websites called Flinty-io and Flinty-live. These websites were used to trick people into investing in cryptocurrency," Sharma said.
FIRs pertaining to an alleged fraud of approximately Rs.100 crore have been registered against the accused at four police stations in Jaipur. Arrests were made by Sodala police....
