Udaipur, July 30 -- A 15-year-old student was killed and 14 others were injured after a school van carrying children rammed a truck parked on the roadside in Banswara district on Wednesday morning, officials said. The accident occurred around 8 am on Dahod Road. According to preliminary information, the van was carrying 15 students to a private school when it crashed into the stationary truck. Locals rushed to the spot, rescued the trapped students from the mangled vehicle, and shifted them to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital with the help of ambulances and private vehicles. The deceased was identified as Ayan Vasunia (15), a resident of Housing Board Colony in Banswara, police said. Dr Indrajeet Yadav said, "Seven children sustained serious injuries. One student died in the accident, while another critically injured child was referred to Udaipur for advanced treatment. Two students are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Banswara, while the remaining injured students received first aid and were discharged."
