Gurugram, Sept. 25 -- A 51-year-old woman was killed and her husband critically injured after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, police said on Thursday. The victims were identified as Pratibha and her husband Ved Parkash, 53, residents of Dharuhera in Rewari. Police said the couple had visited their daughter in Kasan, Manesar, and were returning home when the crash took place at Bilaspur Chowk around 12.30pm on Tuesday. After hitting the motorcycle, the truck allegedly ran over Pratibha, killing her on the spot, while Parkash suffered multiple fractures. Police said the driver slowed down briefly before accelerating and fleeing. Parkash was taken to a private hospital. Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said CCTV footage was being scanned to trace the truck's registration number.
