Two held for F'bad firing, extortion
Gurugram, March 20 -- Police caught two men late Wednesday night following a gunfight, in connection with a firing at a liquor store and a property dealer's office in Faridabad for an extortion bid of over Rs.50 lakh, officials said on Thursday.
Police identified the suspects as Anil Kumar alias Khan, 23, and Manish Kumar, 20. Anil has 12 cases of murder, robbery, dacoity and illegal arms smuggling registered against him. Manish is a Class 12 student.
Crime Branch teams received a tip-off about the suspects' movement on a motorcycle, prompting a vehicle check at IMT Faridabad post. Varun Kumar Dahiya, assistant commissioner of police (crime), said, "Police teams chased the duo. Manish surrendered soon after officers fired in the air. However, Anil fired three rounds at the police. Police fired retaliatory shots and hit Anil in the leg. He was caught and taken to a civil hospital."...
