New Delhi, Oct. 25 -- More than 200 schools across Delhi received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, prompting police deployment and evacuation drills, though the threat was later declared a hoax. Two senior officers from Dwarka and outer Delhi said the emails were sent in the early hours of Friday, around 2:57am, and contained alarming claims of C4 explosives placed around the schools. The emails, accessed by HT, were signed by a purported cyberterror group called "Terrorizers 111," threatening dire consequences if no action was taken within 24 hours. Schools that checked the emails in the morning evacuated students as a precaution. "We did not receive calls from over 200 schools. Some may have ignored the mail or not seen it, while others may have outdated contact IDs," said an officer, adding that cyber teams are investigating the prank. At Ahlcon International School, principal Sanjay Yadav noted that the email address targeted is no longer in use.
