Mayur Vihar, Pitampura stns get new names
New Delhi, Feb. 8 -- Two Delhi Metro stations were renamed Saturday. Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 on the Pink Line is now Shree Ram Mandir Mayur Vihar, and Pitampura on the Red Line is Madhuban Chowk.
The State Names Authority approved the changes. Officials cited public feedback and confusion between Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Mayur Vihar-1 stations, noting the area has a Ram Mandir.
In November, chief minister Rekha Gupta announced additional changes to enhance passenger convenience, including naming an under-construction station "North Pitampura-Prashant Vihar" and a proposed station "Haiderpur Village."HTC...
