Man held for firing outside MGF Mall
Gurugram, April 20 -- A 39-year-old Delhi-based property dealer was arrested on Saturday for allegedly firing a shot in the air outside MGF Mall on MG Road, an act police said endangered public safety.
The crime branch team of Sector 1, Gurugram, arrested the accused, a resident of Bas Mohalla in Ghitorni, officers added. Police said the car used in the incident has also been seized.
Neither the accused nor his legal representative could be reached for comment.
The incident took place on Saturday morning, police said.The mall management at DLF Phase-2 police station alleged in the complaint that a car exited the mall premises and stopped at the exit gate. The driver then allegedly stretched his hand out and fired a shot in the air before fleeing the spot, they added.
Police said an FIR was registered under Section 125 (act endangering public life and safety) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the DLF Phase-2 police station on Saturday.
During questioning, the accused said he was coming out of a club located inside the mall. He is engaged in property dealing in Delhi and Gurugram, officers aware of the case said.
Police said probe is underway to ascertain the motive and whether an illegal weapon was used in the act. The accused will be produced before a court on Monday and taken into custody for further interrogation, officials said....
