New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- A 27-year-old Jharkhand resident was detained for allegedly spray-painting the Parliament Street police station wall during senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's sit-in protest on Friday, police said. Police filed an FIR under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act. The police station is also a heritage building, built in 1913 and designated as a police station in 1920. Following questioning, an officer said the accused was granted bail as the offence was bailable. Police said he is an Indian Youth Congress worker.
