Gurugram, Oct. 15 -- A nine-year-old Class 1 student at a private school in Firozpur Jhirka, Nuh, was allegedly assaulted by a teacher with a metal ruler after being tied up with his uniform tie on the school premises, police said. Officials said the incident took place on Monday morning. The child, who lives at the school's hostel, was allegedly attacked after a fight among hostel students during which he allegedly abused others. The incident came to light later that day when the boy's uncle and aunt arrived for an unexpected visit. The family members alleged they were shocked to see bruises covering the boy's entire body, especially on his cheeks. The minor's cousin provided the account, alleging, "The teacher restrained the child's limbs with a necktie, sat on him and then struck him repeatedly with the ruler." He added that the child had sought help from other staff to contact his family but was denied access to a phone. The family plans to file a formal police complaint after a medical examination. The cousin further alleged, "The school principal was uncooperative. The principal helped the teacher leave the premises. We will also approach the education department." Kishan Kumar, public relations officer of Nuh Police, confirmed awareness of the incident via social media posts. "A case will be registered once a written complaint is received," he said. An education department official said the school will be issued a notice. "We will inquire what action has been taken against the teacher and conduct an inspection of the facilities to ensure adequate and qualified staff are there," the official said....
