GMDA seeks Rs.20 cr to relay 1.5 km pipeline
India, Nov. 4 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has sought nearly Rs.20 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to lay a 1.5-kilometre recycled water pipeline.
According to officials, the existing pipeline was rendered unusable after a storm water drain was constructed over it during the Dwarka expressway's construction.
A GMDA official stated that a technically sanctioned estimate of Rs.20.67 crore was prepared, and as per a decision in a November 2024 meeting, Rs.19.91 crore is to be reimbursed by NHAI.
GMDA officials said this missing pipeline is causing difficulties in supplying treated water to sectors 81-115 and for maintaining greenery along the expressway.
A senior NHAI official, requesting anonymity, said the matter is under consideration at their headquarters, and a meeting will be held soon....
