Gurugram, Feb. 27 -- The Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) on Thursday began planting 18,000 native and climate-resilient saplings along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in collaboration with the Haryana Forest Development Corporation and the forest department. To be sure, for every tree felled for the Gurugram Metro's construction, ten more are to be planted, according to rules. GMRL officials said 18,000 native and climate-resilient trees will be planted as part of the drive. According to GMRL, permission was granted to fell 1,800 trees for Phase-1 of the Gurugram Metro project.
