Centre clears seven judges for Delhi High court
New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- The Centre on Saturday notified the appointment of seven judicial officers as judges of the Delhi High Court (HC), while withholding approval for Gurvinder Pal Singh's elevation.
The Supreme Court collegium had on September 10 recommended Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Dr Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt, Arun Bhardwaj and Singh.
Sharma and Saxena were appointed permanent judges, while Sharma-I, Parashar, Dr Choudhary, Bhatt and Bhardwaj were appointed additional judges. Bhardwaj is registrar general of the Delhi HC and Parashar secretary general of SC. Saxena, Sharma-I and Bhatt are district judges. Sharma and Dr Choudhary have retired.
