World record feels amazing, but making my father proud means everything: 16-year-old Fateh
India, May 5 -- At 16, Fateh Jahaan Singh is one of the youngest participants of the recent landmark underwater operation that set a new Guinness World Record. A team of 200 divers, on Saturday, unfurled the world's largest national flag beneath the sea at Radhanagar Beach in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Class 12 student of The Shri Ram School, Gurugram, expresses how special it felt to be able to set the Guinness World Records. Fateh walks us through his experience of the record-setting dive.
Sharing the prep that went in to attain this feat, he shares, "We practised underwater breathing exercise, maintaining a stable body temperature along with other essential exercises for two days. Everything had to be done correctly - our positions, our timing, the way we held the flag - otherwise it wouldn't have worked."
While the record itself was a defining milestone, Fateh recalls that the most memorable moment came after the dive. "The best moment for me was when my father told me he was proud of me. Of course, the Guinness World Records feels amazing, but making my father proud means everything," he says.
Alongside Fateh, the team included other young participants, included 15-year-old Lavanya Eira from Rishi Valley School in Bengaluru, and 14-year-old Ranvijay Singh from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi....
