Ludhiana, Dec. 16 -- A 50-year-old woman died and her son, in his early twenties, sustained injuries when the motorcycle he was riding skidded on the National Highway near Bhattian in Khanna on Monday. The deceased, identified as Praveen, a resident of Ludhiana, suffered severe head injuries after hitting the road divider during the fall. According to police, Praveen had travelled to Patiala with her son for marriage talks related to her daughter's wedding. After finalising the alliance, they were returning to Ludhiana when the mishap occurred. The motorcycle reportedly lost balance and skidded on the road, causing both riders to fall. Passersby immediately rushed to help and took Praveen to a government hospital in Khanna. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment, while her son still undergoing treatment at the hospital. The incident has left the family devastated, especially as preparations were underway for the daughter's wedding scheduled for March.
