India, Sept. 6 -- Miss World Uganda Muhoza Trivia Elle's Layers of Life gown at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam has drawn attention for turning the seven anatomical layers involved in a C-section into couture. Designed by Ugandan designer Keesha Abdallah for the World Designer Award, the gown uses layered draping and colours to depict the skin, fat, fascia, rectus muscles, peritoneum, uterus muscle and amniotic sac (see inset). The look went viral on X with a few posts amassing over 2 million views, prompting strong reactions online. One C-section mother commented, "I love it when art brings so much soul to life. As a C-section mom myself, thank you so much @k.e.e.sha for your beautiful vision." Another called it "a powerful way to make invisible physical trauma visible". A third praised the design, writing, "West and East African fashion is out of this WORLD." The response has also reached the global health community. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus shared the gown, calling its message "unique and powerful" for raising awareness of the realities of C-section childbirth while celebrating mothers who have experienced it.
