India, Aug. 29 -- S inger Suneel Lodhi may not see the world with his eyes, but the world is seeing him go viral with his Hanuman bhajan More Sankat Ke Kataiya, which has clocked over 29 million views on the YouTube channel Pankaj VRK. And now, his voice has made its way to cinema with Maine Tere Hi Bharose, a song from the recently released film Hanuman Ansh, which has become a sleeper hit. Lodhi speaks to us about his journey from Bundeli music and YouTube to the big screen. "Ever since my song was released in the film, I have been getting so many calls congratulating me for the song. Log keh rahe hain ki viral ho gaya hai gaana. Bahut acha lag raha hai... I want to thank god and all the people who helped me in my journey," he shares, adding, "I had got a call from a Mumbai studio for the recording but I did not know that it was going to be in a film." Lodhi's association with music goes back to when he was around 10-11 and he started singing with a tambura. But it was the internet that took his voice beyond his local audience. "I had been singing songs and posting them on YouTube. That is where my Bundeli songs started getting noticed. I have sung many folk songs, but it was More Sankat Ke Kataiya that took me really far," Lodhi says. For the 25-year-old, the journey has been shaped as much by friends helping him navigate the world around him as by the reach of digital platforms. "I cannot see, so they keep guiding me. They tell me how to do things," he says. Now, with a film song reaching audiences across the country, Lodhi is looking beyond the bhajans that first brought him recognition. "Whatever publicity I have received so far has been through bhajans. Now I want to do something different. I want to do a variety of songs," he concludes....
