BATHINDA, July 5 -- Slain Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moose Wala's father, Balkaur Singh, again did not turn up in the Mansa court to record his statement on Friday. The testimony of Balkaur, a complainant in the case, is stated to be crucial. The singer was shot dead on May 29, 2022. After Balkaur failed did not appear, Mansa district and sessions judge Manjinder adjourned the hearing to July 25. In the last hearing on May 3, Balkaur also stayed away from the court proceedings citing health grounds. Sources familiar with the matter said that earlier too Balkaur had skipped the hearings to record his statement. Balkaur's lawyer, Satinder Pal Singh, said that the plea to hear the matter on the next date was admitted. He said to comment on how many occasions Balkaur did not attend court hearings to record his statement. He added that several accused, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, were present in the court proceedings via video conferences from their respective jails. Friends of the slain singer, Gurwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh, who were travelling with Punjabi singer-turned-politician Moose Wala when he was murdered three years ago, have already recorded their statements in the court. htc...
