Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- The Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) has announced a fresh round of organisational appointments to strengthen its party structure at the grassroots level. In a statement, party office secretary Jagjit Singh Kohli said the appointments had been made on the directions of party president Giani Harpreet Singh. The new team includes 24 vice-presidents, three general secretaries, eight organising secretaries, four joint secretaries, a publicity secretary and seven secretaries, besides four district presidents. The party appointed Amrinder Singh Mandian as Malerkotla district president, Pritam Singh Kussa as Moga district president, Surinder Singh Bassi as Mohali urban district president, and Jora Singh Bhullar of Chappar Chiri as Mohali rural district president. Among the other appointments, Pal Singh, Mahipal Singh and Lajpat Rai were named general secretaries, while Raghbir Singh, Jagdish Singh, Mithu Singh, Amar Singh, Nihal Singh, Charanjit Singh, Rashpal Singh and Baljinder Singh Gogi were appointed organising secretaries. htc...
