Sacred Heart Convent School marks R-Day with theme 'Vande Mataram'
Ludhiana, Jan. 29 -- Sacred Heart Convent School, Sec-39, Urban Estate, celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on its premises.
The celebration was centred on the theme "Vande Mataram," commemorating the 150th anniversary of our national song, first published in 1875.
The theme of the year was beautifully showcased through a series of activities and performances by students of the Primary and Senior sections, highlighting India's rich cultural heritage and national pride.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the Tricolour by the School Director, Rev Fr Sebastian Pallassery, followed by his inspiring address.
He encouraged the staff and students to draw inspiration from the theme and contribute positively to the nation's growth while remaining deeply rooted in its core values.
The cultural programme featured a vibrant display of India's diverse traditions through colourful dances, patriotic songs, and a thought-provoking skit depicting India's journey of progress since independence.
Students also presented speeches and presentations on the theme, accompanied by a musical melody of "Vande Mataram" that resonated throughout the celebration.
The programme concluded with a group dance celebrating the spirit of unity in diversity that defines India.
In her address, the Principal of the school, Sr Crispin Maria, emphasised the theme of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India), highlighting the importance of blending India's cultural heritage with modern advancements to build a brighter future for the nation.
The celebrations concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the ideals of the Indian Constitution and work together towards building a better and stronger India for the future generations....
