Road outside MC office riddled with potholes
Ludhiana, April 11 -- The road outside the municipal corporation's Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar continues to remain in a dilapidated condition, with large potholes and uneven patches posing a risk to commuters.
The stretch from the rail under bridge on Pakhowal Road to Ferozepur Road is marked by damaged surfaces and repeated patchwork, with portions of the road surface worn out and broken.
The road was proposed to be developed under the Smart City project along with infrastructure works on Pakhowal Road. However, while the RUBs were constructed, the road has not been fully developed and has instead been repaired intermittently.
Residents said the stretch witnesses heavy traffic, particularly during peak hours, as it serves as a key link between Pakhowal Road and Ferozepur Road. The presence of two schools along the route further adds to congestion. A municipal corporation official said the stretch falls under a private developer as part of the Smart City project. Senior engineer Sham Lal Gupta said work on the sides of the road has begun and is expected to be completed within a week....
