India, July 6 -- Regenerative fertility is an emerging field in the area of reproductive medicine to boost the fertility potential of a female. It offers new hope to females facing fertility issues due to decreased ovarian reserve either due to advanced age or premature ovarian insufficiency and endometrial damage. It focuses on tissue repair, regeneration and rejuvenation using body's own tissues like stem cells and platelet-rich plasma. Out of these two, autologous platelet rich plasma therapy is more commonly used. Patient's own blood is used to prepare platelet rich plasma that has lot of growth factors and cytokines, which when injected into ovaries and uterus help in ovarian follicular and uterine endometrial regeneration. It is quite safe, simple, and cost-effective therapy. Although its use in gynaecology is very recent and still experimental, due to its promising results, it offers new hope to many couples who are trying to conceive by stimulating body's own response of regeneration.
