India, Aug. 28 -- This Raksha Bandhan, the humble mithai box is giving way to something far more elaborate. Across tricity, gift hampers are being designed not just around taste, but also presentation, personalisation and the experience of opening them. Local bakeries and gifting outlets are bringing together artisanal cookies, brownies, dry cakes, chocolates, nuts and even photo frames to create festive boxes that feel distinctly personal. At Chocoholics, for instance, Arshia Narang's Rakhi box comes with a miniature cake, a rakhi and a posy. Her other hampers take the indulgence further, pairing gourmet treats and chocolates with healthier snacking options. The shift also reflects changing preferences among shoppers. Pehu Gupta, who runs Patisserie Studio, says customers are increasingly conscious about what goes into their hampers and are choosing quality over quantity. "We offer sugar-free and fully customised options tailored to individual preferences. Each item is made absolutely fresh, with hamper prices starting at Rs.799. The range goes up to Rs.4,000 for the most premium offering, the Imperial Embrace," says the 22-year-old. The choices range from almond eclat pouches and lotus seeds to oatmeal and raisin cookies, diet millet mixture, macarons and tiramisu jars, allowing customers to build a hamper around individual tastes. At Trmsu, the mood is decidedly more indulgent. Owner Srishti Garg has taken the bakery route for her Rakhi hampers, bringing together a tiramisu jar, cookies chocolate hazelnut crunch cake and hot fudge for a complete festive treat. The gift sets are priced at Rs.2,000. The Greed Feed by Rhythm Sodhi has similarly curated a trio of desserts - a blueberry lemon poppy bundt, pistachio tart and Bounty chocolate cake - turning the traditional festive sweet box into a dessert-led experience. In Zirakpur, Avni's Oven by Avneet Sachdeva is offering at least nine celebration hampers, with combinations that include cookie jars, makhana and nuts, dry cakes and brownie slabs, along with a rakhi and photo frames. For chocolate lovers, Mozimo has gone all out with handcrafted chocolates, dragees and pralines. Its 'Celestial and Carnival' hampers are priced as high as Rs.8,500, while the Rakhi bark boxes are available for Rs.1,600. What emerges from this year's offerings is a new vocabulary of Rakhi gifting in tricity. The focus is no longer simply on picking up a standard box of sweets. Instead, shoppers are choosing combinations that reflect the recipient's personality - from health-conscious snacks and artisanal bakes to decadent chocolates and little keepsakes....
