Ludhiana, March 26 -- Amid backlash from legal activists and opposition parties, the Punjab government on Wednesday decided to withdraw its notification making FIR downloads chargeable. According to the notification, the government had imposed a fee of Rs 80 for downloading an FIR from Sanjh Portal. In a fresh notification, issued by the additional chief secretary, DK Tiwari of the department of good governance and information technology, said no charges will be levied for downloading FIRs from the Sanjh Portal.
