New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Tuesday approved minimum support prices (MSP) for raw jute at Rs.5,925 per quintal (100 KG) for the marketing season 2026-2027, a 4.8% increase over Rs.5,650 per quintal in 2025-26 "The announced MSP of raw jute for Marketing season 2026-27 is in line with the principle of fixing MSP at a level of at least 1.5 times all India weighted average cost of production as announced in the Budget 2018-19," the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs ( CCEA) said in a statement. West Bengal accounts for almost 79.85% of India's jute production, and the state heads to elections early this summer.
