Karnal, July 8 -- Upset over the delay in implementing Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) funds, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma left the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting midway in Ambala on Tuesday. Sharma, who co-chaired the meeting with Ambala Congress MP and chairperson Varun Chaudhary, expressed displeasure over delays in development projects and the officials' working style. Sharma is an Independent MP from Haryana in the Upper House of the Parliament, who won with the support of BJP in 2022. Chaudhary, meanwhile, was surprised when Ambala municipal corporation (MC) officials informed the committee that nearly Rs.30 crore is spent annually ahead of monsoon to clean drains and other water bodies to avert waterlogging. The meeting was also attended by deputy commissioner Ajay Singh Tomar, MC commissioner Virender Sehrawat, mayor Akshita Saini and other administrative officials.htc...
