Monsoon waiting in the wings
India, June 24 -- Though the sky remained cloudy on Monday, residents will have to wait till Wednesday for monsoon, India Meteorological Department officials have said. Interestingly, this time, monsoon has reached parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and even Ladakh before Chandigarh. IMD Chandigarh director Surender Paul said, "The monsoon movement doesn't just come from the South towards the North, it also moves from the East to the West. This time, it has moved faster to the Western side of the country, which is why the monsoon system has even entered parts of Punjab before it has entered Haryana and Chandigarh."...
